Are all five year old boys strong willed?

Almost all children are occasionally strong willed, but some children are definitely more strong willed than others. While it would be innaccurate to claim a behavior trait as common to only girls or only boys, many boys tend to be active and to express themselves physically instead of verbally, which can be interpreted by some as strong willed.

No two people are alike. That goes for five year olds or fifty year olds. Everybody has their own unique temperament or personality. Some five year olds are shy, while others are big risk-takers and will 'take on the world'. If your five year old boy is strong willed, be happy. He is healthy and knows what he wants.

I don't think it's just boys at this age that are strong willed. This is a trait amongst children at this age. The part that makes it the worst is that if us as parents are strong willed it seems that our children are twice as strong willed. The truth is they don't grow out of it.
