Well, that really all depends on what you want it for, casual driving or cross country, etc. Overall, it isn't terrible, it has a good engine, so yeah, why not?

The price of a golf 5 new is 18k to 22k.Used you could probably find a lot of good ones since they only started building them again in 1999.
