Yes. I would verfiy that parts are readily available for the model you are purchasing and make sure to obtain the owners/users manuals for the motor so that you know what preventative maintenance needs to be done and proper operation.

It would depend on the price and the size of the boat you have - a 25hp will be fine for anything around 4metres long. Longer or shorter, you should adjust the hp you get accordingly.

outboard motors are similar to car engines in that the more wear and tear the less value they hold but they are certainly valuable.
