Will there be a second Eragon film?

The author of the Eragon storyline has published two books: Eragon and Eldest. However, considering that the first film did not do that well at the box office, a sequel seems unlikely at the moment.

There are no plans for a second Eragon film. The first was not financially successful and the lead actor, Chris Egan, has aged considerably since the original's release in 2004.

There are three books, so it would make sense to make movies for the other books, however there is no film plan just yet.

I am not certain if there will be a second Eragon movie because the first one missed out huge chunks from the book.
