Back injuries are always very difficult to treat. Sometimes, they heal fully, and sometimes they do not. A lot depends on how badly the vertebra is crushed. Another big factor is whether the spinal cord had any damage. Only a doctor can tell for sure how it will heal.
A crushed vertebrae is a hard thing to deal with. No one can actually know if it will fully heal. It all depends on the person. If you relax and treat it with care, the chances are way better at a full, or almost full recovery. Try consulting your local/family doctor if you need more help.
This depends on how severe the injury was/is. However, in general, yes, a crushed vertebrae will heal just as other bones do. Make sure to see a doctor and make sure that the vertebrae did not cause any nerve or brain damage.

I have been receiving acupuncture and herbal medicine from JaSeng Alternative Hospital in Fullerton, CA for two months. I can walk without use of a crutch or cane and my back feels like it is 60% back to normal. I have four months of treatments left.
This depends on how you interpret a crushed vertebrae. If you have a compressed verebrae, it will never go back the way it was before again. A crushed vertebrae will usually result in surgery called vertebroplasty. This is where they put a brace along your spine for support. For a burst fracture, it can be healed with a fusion procedure.

I hope not. I won't give in. I intend to be back in the saddle shortly. I won't give up my riding. Think positive. Need my broken arm to fix too. I am so frustrated not being able todrive or ride. add a comment
The bone will heal but not regain it's shape. It takes about 18 months before it stops really bothering you, but you will always know about it. (I've done it twice, once in 1989 and again last November. Some people never learn!)
