Will a Chinese dwarf hamster be playful?

They do not interact with children the way that a dog or cat would. However, children do enjoy holding them and petting them. Hamsters can become very social and want to be held by the child. Children also enjoy watching them crawl through tubes, on wheels, and playing with other hamsters.

Hamsters make good pets because they are easy to take care of, and don't require too much. THey are not however very playful. They are calm animals. If your child wants a pet he can play with he may be better off with a puppy or even a kitten. Find a puppy which will be good with kids.

Rodents are too fragile to be play toys for kids. If he wants a pet to play with, a dog or cat would be the best option plus, hamsters can only live for two years.

Yes. They are active in the day as well as at night time too. They do not require a great deal of sleep and are fun to watch.

Chinese dwarf hamsters are known to get agressive with eachother, as well as with humans. So much that it is recommended that they be separated when small to avoid agression with each other.

Hamsters do love to be held, and love attention. They also love to play in tubes, and run on wheels. That is about the extent of their playing. They can be fun just to hold, and love on.
