This style sweater will not be your best choice for a pear shaped body. These sweater tend to fasten toward the lower part of the garment, which would be around the waist or even lower. Often these sweaters have a band around the bottom which would put focus on the area where you would want less attention drawn.

It will look good if you get one long enough. That is the key it needs to be at least mid hip length.
