Will a baby with reflux have sleep apnea issues as well?

My baby has reflux, should I be worried about apena as well.

Answer by  PJAGANI (231)

Apnea and hyperpnea are common among babies while they are sleeping, particularly when they have reflux. One should not worry about it. Don't forget burping a baby after they have been breast fed of bottle fed.

Possibly. One does not make the other more likely. SIDS is thought to be a form of sleep apena. Be sure to put them to sleep on a slight recline.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) was caused by reflux or night time heartburn, and affects 4% to 9% of men and 1% to 4% of women. This study was only done on adults from the North American population. The normal age of test subjects was 40 and affects about 35% of the population.
