Why won't my 10 horsepower Briggs and Stratten start?

Make sure it has gas in it and that gas is getting to the carburetor. Change the fuel filter if not. Then, make sure it is getting spark. If it is not, pull the cover off the flywheel and sand the smooth edge of the flywheel near the magneto.

Spark plug has vibrated loose. It is possible for a spark plug to become loose from its rubber fitting through engine vibration. Check that the plug is fully connected to the rubber conductor at the front of the engine and then try and restart the engine.

Usually a fuel or spark problem is to blame. Always start by checking the air filter. A clogged filter not allow the engine to run. Next check the spark plug for wear and replace if it looks corroded. Last replace the fuel filter.

it is one of the best small engine lawn mowers known. but if it has got starting problem. check the oil level(low oil shut down),choke and also motor. check for the loose wire connections. give it to the company for the service as it will have waarenty. replace it with new one. even coil might also be bad

If this type of mower does not tend to start then your battery is out and you might want to buy another one.
