My Briggs Stratton engine start only when pump fuel is added.

If it only starts with new gasoline and not old, I would get rid of the old gas and just get new from the pump to run the engine.

you may have a stopped up fuel line. it could also be a stopped up needle jet in the float bowl of the carburator. if it starts any at all then it is probably starving for fuel.
