Why is the awd (all wheel drive) disable light on in my Buick Rendezvous?

Well either you switched it off without knowing or the system disabled itself. Try turning it back on manually. If it wont come on you should check the computer for codes to see what could be wrong with the all wheel drive system.

Most likely because you have an fault in the system.You should get or borrow a portable code scanner and see what it pulls

Typically the only time a issue like this happens is when there is a problem in the system. You should take it to a shop or dealer and have them do some diagnostics. Chances are that it is an internal issue and they should be able to correct it.

Because the all wheel drive is not working properly. You can take it up to an auto shop and they will be able to fix what ever the problem may be. It can be a number of things that are wrong with the car such as the cv joints or the shafts or even the transmission.

I think that it is probably a sensor of some sort. I would check all your fuses, and you might have to replace your differential. Hope this helps you out.

the all wheel drive disable light might be on because the computer in your car has a defect bring it to a car shop to have them check it out
