Why is my Yorkie turning light brown as she gets older?

All yorkies turn brown as they age and it occurs upto 2 years. Some have white/silver shading, while some are rich brown in color. This is a natural happening.

As a dog gets older fur gets exposed to more sunlight as well as cleaning agents in shampoos. This tends to dry out hair and give it a lighter color.

Dogs have a tendency to change appearance as the get older. The tendency is that darker hair lightens just like a person's hair will turn gray as they age. It is completely normal. The texture might ever change form soft to coarse or vice-versa.
