Why is my dog's vomit plum?

More than likely if your dogs vomit is plum colored the coloring is caused by something your dog ate. Keep an eye on your dog and if your dogs plum colored vomit goes away or no other symptom develop you probably have no need to worry.

It may be because of what your dog ate -- if she ate something purple that would cause purple vomit. Otherwise, you will need to see a vet.

A dogs vomit changes colors when it eats different things. If your dog eats something it shouldn't it can look like a rainbow!! Unless there is blood in the vomit don't be too concerned. Your dog probably just got into something that he wasn't supposed to and it made him vomit all over the place.

It could be that he or she is eating something unhealthy (throwing up and it being at color); watch when he/she is outdoors. It might also, more seriously, be that your dog has an ulcer or some other type of stomach bleeding that can cause this type of symptom. Check for blood.
