It could signal a bladder infection so you should take your dog to a vet as soon as you can. Brown urine is not a good sign, it means your dog's body is not functioning properly and the urine is not getting diluted at all. This can be very serious so your dog needs to see a vet.

Brown urine usually means that there is blood in it (it normally goes brown when exposed to the air). This signifies some kind of bladder infection or kidney stones, which require treatment by a vet. Make an appointment asap, because this is serious and can be fatal if left untreated.

When the urine is brown, it means that the animal is dehydrated. The darker the urine the more dehydrated they are. Of course, if it comes after a strenuous workout, it is not unusual.
