Why is my dog trying to hide one of her puppies?

If the puppy is small or sick she may just be trying to protect it from you or anyone else that may interfere with the care of her baby. Be careful if you try to take the puppy from her as she may become even more protective and snap.

She might be scared someone is trying to take the puppies away from her. If it is the first time she has had them, She is being overly protective of them. She probably doesn't want anything to harm them. But not real sure, but I think that might be it.
