Why is it that when parking uphill, you should turn your tires towards the curb?

Should your emergency brake and gears fail to hold the car,your car has a good chance of being stopped or slowed by the curb. Also,should your emergency brakes and gears fail to hold, the car wouldn't go into the roadway blocking traffic or across the street into another car that is parked or hit a car using the road.

this is why you should turn your ties towards the curb if your emergency brake goes your car will hit the curb and not go into the road where on coming cars could be
