Why is it recently popular to thank God for everything?

Trends come and go. Thanking god could very well be a trend of people and celebrities to inprove their images. People relate god to all things good. When thanking god it makes these people look as though they are good. I do however believe that many of these people are Christans and do truely believe.

The people thanking god rarely do so in a religious sense. Religion seems to be more for display than anything.
