There will always be natural disasters. A wise preacher commented that a merciful God continues to work in people's lives trying to make things better in spite of what happens.

God gets blamed for disasters, but what about when a child comes into this world? Or the beauty of a sunset? He's behind that & gets no recognition.

Using the New Testament, God is merciful by letting his son die for our sins so that we don't have to spend eternity in Hell (Assuming we repent)

The bible is full of examples that show gods mercy. For example in the bible god showed mercy to King David after he sinned with Bathsheba, and then killed her husband. See 2 Sam. 11:1 through 12:9; 1 Ki. 15:5. Also he showed great mercy when he spared the city on Nineveh, and the life of Jonah.See book of Jonah

Many people believe that he gave His Son for our salvation. We will all die, but have hope in His mercy. Many miraculous things happen after great tragedies.
