How do you go about charging a car battery and how long does it take?

Open the hood and hook battery charger up as follows red cable positive black cable negitive. make sure you have a good conection or the charge wont work. the amount of time depends on the charger you are using and how dead the battery is. the better the charger the faster a charge

I would jump your battery and drive around for awhile to try a charge it up. Otherwise put it on a trickle charger and leave it for a couple hours.

Buy a trickle charger, and hook positive clamp to positive post of battery. Do the same for negative post> It usually takes a full day to charger from completely dead.

To charge a battery you need an automobile battery charger. Plug it in and attach it to the battery. It will probably take a few hours if it's totally flat.
