If your microwave is several years old or more, it could just be worn out and need replacement. Otherwise, it is possible that the settings on the microwave have been changed. Most microwaves have a power setting of one through ten. Try changing the setting to a higher level, this should solve the problem.

Check the power setting on you microwave many of them allow you to set them to differnt levels of power. If this is not the case try unplugging it to let it resets itself. If this does not work try call a repair man or you could just get a new one.

I would assume that either tha capaciter or the transformer in the microwave are starting to go but more than likely its the capaciter and its cheaper to get a new microwave.

Your microwave oven might seem to have reduced power because it does have reduced power. Like most things, microwaves get weaker over time, and eventually need to be serviced or replaced. In the case of a microwave, it will almost always be cheaper to buy a new one.

There is the total wattage output consumed in the residence, which might be overtaxed due to total wattage consumed by more than one large appliance unit. It is a possibility that the electrical input consumed at peek hours weakens the performance of the power company output. The other possibility is that the megatons component within the microwave unit is faulty.

Your microwave may be putting out less power do to bad capacitors or a bad switch panel not allowing enough electric current to flow. Thus, reducing cooking power.

Some microwaves come with an option to adjust the power level that your microwave heats the food. Someone may have tampered with that. You may have gotten used to eating food that is that temperature. You should not be worrying about why your microwave does not function the same but worrying about why don't you cook food on a stove.

As a microwave continues to be used over time the power and energy it produces to cook one's food throughly starts to lower. The microwave simply wears out.

Depending on the age of your microwave, it could be getting ready to die. Make sure it is not set to a lower power, but think about a new one.
