There are many reasons a dog may have dry skin. It could be an allergic reaction to something such as food or a plant. It could also be a sign of a medical condition. Dogs skin can also dry out if you give them too many baths. You should take your dog to a veterinarian to rule out anything serious.

Dogs can have dry skin for many reasons but it is usually because they are not getting enough fats in their diet. You vet can prescribe omega 3 fatty acid capsules for dry skin. They work great and are fairly cheap. Also make sure your dog isnt exposed to the sun for long periods of time.
