Twitching can be a sign of neurological problem that can be better determined by a veterinarian. Another common cause of twitching can be itching related to allergy and/or skin problems.

There could be numerous reasons for this depending on the severity of the twitch and how often it occurs. It could be some form of epilepsy or it could simply be a character quirk of your cat.

If this occurs during sleep, it could be that they are dreaming. If they are awake, it could be a sign of communication.

Cat's twitch due to a small muscle tremor. This usually only happens when a cat is sleeping and can be likened to REM sleep.
