Question by  Rebecca (12)

Why does "CSI" use songs by "The Who" for every show?

Why don't they pick songs that fit their shows instead?

I guess they just like it. I also guess you're watching repeats. If you go to the applicable website you can get liner notes for all the musicians featured on the show. There's many.

Acquiring the legal rights to play a song during a TV broadcast can be very expensive, so TV producers make deals with record studios in order to get special discounts. Sometimes that means they only get to play songs by specific musicians to get that discount.

I believe there was an opening scene in an early episode where Grissom sets the stage: "we know the how and the where, all we need now is [pause] the who" [cut to opening credits/theme music].

Some would argue that "The Who" fits practically any show! And seriously, I think "The Who" captures the same kind of atmosphere as CSI.

well ... i think that they want to look very interesting for people , so the people would watch the show over and over and over and wait that they would change it
