Some websites are hosted in an unreliable place that may experience power losses or other problems. Other pages are so data intense (flash, large photos, etc. ) that your internet connection may not be able to transfer all the data on the page, thereby crashing it. Othertimes, there's just bad code in the pages that cause them to crash.

It could be a number of different reasons. Either the server that supports the website data had a hardware or software failure, or the host for the website had some sort of technical problem, the website might have gotten attacked by a hacker or infected with a virus which caused the system to crash. The sky is really the limit.

Web pages are just a series of html coding, and if there is a java script coding for example it is not coded correctly, this could crash the web page. There can also be malicious code embedded in the page to cash it to crash.

Pages "crash" for a variety of reasons. When your web browser downloads a page, it sends a request to the server host. The server then processes the request and serves all text, content and images back to your browser. Any interruption in this process, from poor server response to slow internet connection speed can cause a timeout or "crash. "
