Why do people get into beauty pageants?

I think the most popular reason for entering beauty pageants is the simple fact that it is fun to get pampered and "prettied" up for a day. Most girls enjoy having someone do their hair and makeup and being in a pageant gives them an excuse to have that done.

That could be a factor for some but that is not true of everyone that enters beauty pageants. Some do it for exposure or money. It depends on the person.
