Sometimes late miscarriages occur due to hormonal issues in the mother, abnormalities of the fetus, injury to the mother or uterus, or an infection of the mother or baby.

A 2nd trimester miscarriage can occur due to chromosomal defects, an infection, placenta problems, congential birth defects, or trauma to the stomach.

It is very unfortunate that you had miscarriage during second trimester. Miscarriage occurs due to many reasons as cervical insufficiency, chromosomal abnormalities, internal bleeding,some infections and sometimes due to problems with placenta. Some miscarriage usually occur in first trimester but are known during the second.
