Urine can chage color for a variety of reasons. Dilute urine can be almost clear, while very concentrated urine (for example when you are dehydrated) can be dark brown or tea colored. Urine can also get dark if there is blood in the urine (for example in kidney disease) or bilirubin (in jaundice. Medications can also change urine color.

This indicates there is something wrong inside your body, possibly a Urinary Tract Infection, or it could be something much more serious, such as your kidneys not processing properly. Go to your doctor with any other issues you might be having so they can get to the bottom of your illness as quickly as possible.

The color of urine is due to your kidneys processesing what you have consumed. Discoloration could be a sign of something serious like kidney disease. The bright side could just be that it was something unusual you've eaten like fava beans or perhaps a new perscription in which case your physician would warn you of that side effect.

Brown urine is a symptom of hepatitis. It can also be indicative of blood in your urine. Occasionally, something you eat will influence the color. In the absence of pain or fever, drink copious amounts of water and see if anything changes. Consult a doctor if the condition persists since it could be a serious health issue.
