Tightness of the chest after ablation is usually caused by the swelling of the pericardium tissue called pericarditis. A more serious cause could be fluid buildup around the heart, or infection.

Well this is very common symptom of the ablation. This is because the muscles are just reforming and contracting. The feeling of tightness may be painful and as some advice to you, you are better off to take advil with some food. This will help relieve you of the pain.

Whenever an ablation occurs the chest would be the first site to be affected. The important reason for that could be, the chest muscles are more susceptible for an ablation.
