Why are there some people that just do not have any interest in life?

Usually when someone shows no interest in anything for an extended period of time, there could be a chemical imbalance causing depression. This should be checked by a doctor.

Some people would call that depression. Symptoms of depression are loss of interest in things in general. Also never wanting to do anything in life.

I've wondered about this myself. It could be that your brother is depressed. Depression will cause you not to have any interest in life. My brother has no interest in dating. Not in men or women. I wonder if he gets lonely but doesn't seem to. Strange.

and they don't know why either. The first thought that comes to mind is they are depressed, serontoin, the harmone for feeling good is low. exercise may help.

I'm the same. No interests. I do have issues with depression but somedays I don't and still no interests.. I have a hard time watching movies/tv and force myself to the gym but I hate it and get so sleepy afterwards.. idk
