The first belly button on television was oscar the grouch. When he popped up out of the trash can on the first episode of Sesame Street, he became the first official belly button to be seen on television. Everyone laughed because it was green and hairy. Kids love Sesame Street still to this day.

This is a question that causes conflict. Many claim is was Britteny Spears, but it's obvious that belly button's were around on TV much earlier than the 90's. Due to the mass amounts on programs, it is almost impossible to find out whose belly button was first to be seen on tv.
