Who were the critics of the New Deal?

What was their problem with it?

A lot of the critics were conservatives, who did not like that the New Deal gave the federal government a far greater role in the everyday lives of average citizens. Some accused the New Deal of being communist and fascist.

Huey Long, Charles Couglin etc. They considered that it was too interventionist, it drifted the country towards socialism, and because it was too generous with the corporate interests involved.
