What makes music "Baroque"?

Answer by  CarolynOsborne (2804)

Baroque music was written by Western European composers between the late 1600s and the late 1700s. This music is often characterized by counterpoint (two melodies played simultaneously)instead of melody with harmony that was common to the next era. Baroque composers include Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Buxtehude, Telemann, and Pachelbel.
