Sylvania and casio are pretty good and affordable. The range is quite good and they have different features in the various technologies. I don't think these t.v.'s are that great and easy on the eyes. I don't suggest getting one for a child. However, if you are going to get it, go with the Casio.

Samsungs hand held TV's are the most durable. So i would go with this brand if you are purchasing it for a child. The screen is also a nice size and very bright so it will be easy to see. They have a few different models so shop around for one that fits what you need.

The best quality ones that ive seen are from samsung, they are bright screens and they are durable, good for kids .
