I believe the patron saint of music is Saint Cecilia. The reason she was chosen as the patron saint was because she sang to God on her death bed. Also she sang in her heart to Jesus on her wedding day. Music seemed to be the way she reached out to God, so that's how she became the patron saint.

Saint Cecilia of Rome is the patron saint of musicians, music, and church music. She sang to God as she died. She was a martyr and her feast day is November 22.
