Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was one of, if not the most important leader during the India's independence movement between 1915 and 1945. He is known for his non-violent tactics and civil disobedience. He was assassinated on January 30, 1948 by Nathuram Godse, a Hindu Nationalist.
