Max Frankel is known for his 50 years of working at the New York Times. He won a Pulitzer as a reporter for his coverage of then President Nixon's trip to China. He was known for asking President Ford a controversial question that may have cost him a second term. He was the paper's executive editor from 1986 to 1994.

He was a journalist. He worked for the New York Times for 50 years. During the Nixon administration his diplomatic trip to communist China was huge news. Mr. Frankel covered that trip and for his efforts won the Pulitzer Prize. He also wrote about how the Times did not allow coverage of the Holocaust during WWII.
