Gabriel Okara is a Nigerian writer. His most famous fiction novel is "The Voice" was hailed as the most memorable work of fiction by an African writer. He was awarded the Commonwealth Poetry Award in 1979. His best attribute as a writer is being able to successfully capture the moods, sights and sounds of Africa.
