Christopher Columbus is most often given credit for discovering America. It is now known that the Norse Vikings from Greenland created a settlement on coastal Canada about three hundred years before Columbus's trip, thus qualifying them as the first documented discoverers of America.

Viking Leif Ericson discovered Amercia. However, evidence exists that others may have arrived first such as the: welsh; Saint Brendon of Ireland; Chinese; Polonesians; Japanese; Isreals lost tribes; Knighs Templar.
