Buchi Emecheta is a female, Nigerian author. Her work focuses on seemingly female oriented plights, such as women and children's rights. She is an award winning author of books, seminal works, plays and shorts. She has won at least 6 literary awards and completed her Ph.D. in London in 1991. She has written at least 13 novels plus other works.
