Who invented ice cream is almost impossible to answer, because it has been around for thousands of years. The Greeks, about 5th Century BC, sold cones of ice in Athens.
Some say that the Chinese invented ice cream, however the ice cream that we know and love today was invented by a woman from England named Mary Eales. She published the first recipe for ice cream in her book in 1718.
Ice cream originated back in 4th century B. C. when ice was mixed with fruit. Augustus Jackson, a confectioner, improved the method in 1832, and sold it to ice cream parlors.
