The record is held by both Mike Piazza who had 124 RBI's in the 1999 season and was tied by David Wright in the most recent season of 2008 with 124 RBI's.

Mike piazza holds the single-season record for rbi as a New York Met. Mike played with the Mets starting in 1998, and set the Mets single-season rbi record in 1999. When Mike left the Mets in 2006, he held the team record for slugging percentage, and was second in team history with 220 home runs.

The answer to this question is Mike Piazzi. He did this in the 1999 season while playing catcher for the Mets. The top contender to beat this record as of now is David Wright who is nearing the record.

Mike Piazza was born on September 4, 1968 and was 31 years old when he earned his single season record of 124 RBIs for the New York Mets in 1999. He played his final game on September 30, 2007.
