Remington Arms was founded by Eliphalet Remington in 1896 and is still operating at its original location in Ilion, New york. The most popular model is the Model 700 bolt action shotgun. Law enforcewent has their own version known as the Model 700P. They returned to the handgun market recently releasing the Model 1911 R1 in June 2010.

I recently visited the Remington museum and took a factory tour. They are free to the public. The Remington Arms company was founded by Eliphalet Remington in 1816 near the Erie Canal in Ilion, NY. They are most known for the Remington Model 870 Pump-Action Shotgun.
