In addition to guarding the Ark of the Covenant, the four angels are also said to surround the throne of God. These four angels are named Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, and Raphael.
I've never heard the exact names of the four angels. However, they are almsot definately cherubs or seraphym, which are high ranking angels used as God's right hand.
