The original crew of The Ultimates consisted of Captain America, Giant Man, The Wasp, The Hulk, Ultimate Thor, and Iron Man. Later characters were added, including Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. They have battled and defeated a host of villians, most notably Chitauri, Loki, The Liberators, Magneto, and Doctor Doom.

The Ultimates are what was left after the Avengers were reformed. They included Captain America, The Hulk and Thor, but many of the other Avengers were not present.
