Where should you aim when trying to kill an elk with an arrow?

You shouldn't kill elk. Hunting is inhumane and disgusting. It's even worse if you are using a bow and arrow. Please use a gun if you feel the need to kill. I guess you aim at the heart in order to kill an elk quickly. It would be best not to kill at all though.

Behind the schoulder gives the best possibility of a killing shot, hitting the lungs, and or heart will cause the animal to bleed out quickly.

There are a number of areas on an elk that will provide a one shot kill. YOu can aim just behind the shoulder and at the middle mass. The arrow should pierce both lungs, the heart and or the great vessels of the heart killing the animal quickly and humanely.
