The Salton Sea is located in Southern California. It lies in a northwest to southeast direction, and spans both Riverside and Imperial counties. The Chocolate Mountains to the east and Santa Rosa Mountains to the west frame this body of water.

The Salton Sea is in southern California, just before the Arizona-California border. It is east of Los Angeles County. You can get there from the 10 Freeway. You would take the 10 West from Arizona. To get there from California you would take the 10 East. The Salton Sea is south of the 10 Freeway.
