The breastbone also known as the sternum is located in the center of your chest. It helps support the collarbone (clavicle) the sternum also is connected to the ribs. The ribs and sternum work together protecting the organs and major blood vessels located in the chest.

It is also known as the sternum. It is formed in a shape like the letter T. The upper part of the T goes from shoulder to shoulder, and the stick part of the T goes down in the middle of the chest. It is a shield for your heart.
