Provence is not a region of Germany but a region of south-eastern France. Provence is bordering the Mediterranean in the south and Italy in the east. There is a town in Provence called Allemagne-en-Provence, which in French means Germany-in-Provence. This can be the reason behind the confusion about the geographical location of Provence.

The Provence is located in Southeast France, not in Germany. The Rhone river forms the western boarder, Italy the eastern boarder.
