Hydrogen is most commonly found on earth joined to oxygen in water molecules. In the universe, hydrogen is the most abundant element, and is found in all stars, where it goes through nuclear fusion and becomes helium. Most acids are also hydrogen combined with a negative ion, such as chlorine in hydrochloric acid.

Hydrogen makes up about 2/3 of all the matter in the universe. In our solor system, jupiter, neptune, saturn and the sun are almost completely hydrogen, On earth, since hydrogen is very reactive, it is comonly found in many molecules like such as water.
