Is it safer to be using hydrogen peroxide in pools?

Doesn't hydrogen peroxide kill germs?

It is, in fact, safer to use hydrogen peroxide in pools. Hydrogen peroxide has always been used as an effective cleaving agent. One popular alternative, Chlorine, contains carcinogens and has been known to cause pre-mature skin aging.

We can use hydrogen peroxide in pools. It is very safe. It will kill germs. But it's smell is very bad. The chemical content is too low in it. It is the atom H2O2. H2O is water. That means water and an extra oxygen molecule. It will kill the germs and it is good.

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is an acceptable alternative to chlorine. It kills germs as well as chlorine does, without the fumes. Two cups of H202 per thousand gallons of water is a common, safe, level to use.

Hydrogen peroxide is a very powerful oxidizing agent, which is safe but not necessarily as effective as Chlorine in a pool. The reason for this is that gases, in this case the oxygen in the peroxide, are less soluble at warmer temperature and will therefore be lost to the air very quickly.

works fabulously-use hydrogen peroxide strips to maintain 30ppm -we just shocked it opening for the season and it's at 100ppm. used it for years with 24' round and now 16x32. use 2-3 algaebar dot com too, crystal clear  add a comment

Yes it does kill germs but hydrogen peroxide has a terrible smell to it. It smells like vinegar and it bubbles a lot. So if you pour it in it will kill germs but it will also smell really bad.

ARe you kidding me? I've used peroxide for 20 yrs-internally and externally-do your research!!! -peroxide does not smell bad and when I put 1 cup of 35% peroxide in my 13000 THOUSAND GALLON pool it certainly doesn't bubble. OMG give your head a shake  add a comment

Hydrogen peroxide is a form of water due to it's chemical makeup, so "using" it as a germ killer in swimming pools would only dilute the hydrogen peroxide and turn it into regular water.

no it dilutes the ppm of hydrogen peroxide in your water. If you maintain the pool or hot tub at 30ppm to 50 ppm it works perfectly for a fraction of the cost and will save your health and that of your kids! research it online!!  add a comment

Hydrogen peroxide does kill germs but it does not compare to chlorine or other chemicals used in a pool. It is not approved for pool use.

ya...and chlorine is! go figure! h202 does a BETTER job and its not toxic!do the research- the chlorine is damaging your kids lungs even if they spend 1 day a week in it. do your reserach on hydrogen peroxide therapy online!! add in algaebars and the pool is crystal clear!  add a comment
